One of the UK's leading Rail & Civils Main Contractors are looking for Freelance Permanent Way Engineers for a major rail project in The Scottish Highlands. Initial requirements in October, the successful candidates will benefit from excellent day rates and with accommodation covered on a contract looking to last five years. Role & Responsibilities: The Permanent Way Engineer's responsibilities include: Reporting into the Project Manager Managing the effective surveying and setting out prior to installation Ensuring technical compliance for any allocated work Ensuring all work undertaken is in conjunction with the quality and standard of construction Preparing and checking reports Being involved in track construction and installation Working closely with the project delivery team to ensure smooth and timely completion of the project Benefits: The Permanent Way Engineer will benefit from: Excellent day rates Accommodation cost covered by employer Experience with a leading main contractor on a major project Being surrounded by a ambitious team with proven success Requirements: The Permanent Way Engineer will ideally have: A HNC/HND/Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent A Valid PTS Card Proven experience of Permanent Way Engineering - using GPS and TS equipment Experience in 3D survey, setting out, stressing level two and machine control An in-depth knowledge of Network Rail Track processes The ability to write succinct reports and documents and have a full appreciation of NR procedures, processes and standard Randstad CPE, as an approved and successful supplier to the rail industry looking to up-skill the engineering sector, can Primary Sponsor rail workers and also assist genuine candidates with gaining their PTS (Personal Track Safety).
